As part of our ongoing “How We Work” series where we highlight software that is essential for running our business, we would like to take some time today to discuss our all time favorite imaging websites: Canva, Unsplash, and Freepik. In addition to all of the photos we collect at various client on-sites, these are the three main programs that we use to gather images for social media, blog posts, and web design projects. Keep reading for more informhttps://unsplash.com/ation on how we use these websites in conjunction with our own text and images to create unique digital marketing materials! ⠀
Each of these three image websites serve a special purpose for us when it comes to creating digital marketing campaigns! Canva is our go-to when it comes to creating promotional content including digital flyers, event headers, and in store signage for clients. We also use this program to reformat images, design new logos, and create custom social media content for series posts. Unsplash serves as a huge dataset of copyright free stock images that requires no special access and can be used by anyone. This website is one of our favorites when it comes time to finding feature photos for blog posts. Lastly, Freepik is a great for finding illustrations and customizable Instagram story layouts
With all of this being said, we’ve learned a few tips and tricks over the years from working with these programs that we would like to share with you in this blog. In general, imaging websites such as Freepik and Unsplash are home to countless forms of media. While the amount of options to choose from can be helpful, it can also be overwhelming if you don’t narrow down your search results. Our favorite trick to help you navigate these websites more efficiently is to filter your search by color and photo orientation so that you are only met with relevant results. When it comes to creating graphics on Canva, we recommend using the “animate” feature on either your whole image or just the text to really capture the attention of your audience!
