Our team had the chance to advertise in the program for Studio West Dance Academy as they presented a classic fairy tale ballet, Cinderella. We all know the enchanted love story and we couldn’t wait to see their rendition of Cinderella. The performance featured humor, beautiful set productions, gorgeous costumes, and a sense of nostalgia for the older crowd.
The dancers were really excited for this performance because it was their first time in two years to return to a pre-pandemic theatre filled with laughter and joy. Stephanie Wood-Ennett, co-director for Studio West Dance Theatre, was ecstatic for the performance as well because “It has brought our dancers so much joy to see their smiling faces and the extra sparkle in their eyes and expressions as they rehearse. Their return will be triumphant and the perfect exclamation point for our seniors taking the stage for their final spring ballet with Studio West.” It definitely is a bittersweet moment for most of the dancers on the stage. We are so happy to be able to be a part of this wonderful event.
The performance took place on April 29-30 with four shows at the Washington Center for Performing Arts where the dancers took the stage and retold the Life of Cinderella. The Studio also planned a Cinderella’s Royal Reception which was one hour before each Saturday show. This was a time where the audience could enjoy some delicious food and drinks and listen to the original beloved story before the curtain opened on the main stage.
