Heilman Designs is a trusted brand to many artists when it comes to durable custom crafted pastel boxes, easels, and oil boxes. As creatives themselves who share a passion for nature as well as art, John and Margaret Heilman saw a need in their community that had not been met with any other product before. They wanted to find a way to allow for the freedom to create art anywhere they went without limitations. Thus, Heilman pastel and oil boxes grew out of a need for efficient, easy to use, reliable systems for painting in studio, workshop or in plain air.
John’s gift of creativity in fine woodworking coupled with his love of precise engineering and tenacity for quality and good function has made the process of making art easier for artists of every level and discipline. As an artist working in studio, workshop and in plain air, Marge experienced and took careful note of challenges encountered by herself and fellow artists. Via “wish lists”, feedback and trial in the field John’s art boxes surpass any product available in quality, endurance and functionality. As their ideas for new products grew, so did their popularity which brings us to today where Heilman Designs Pastel Boxes are regularly sold and shipped worldwide.
As you can see, having a dependable e-commerce website is necessary for Heilman Designs to maintain their successful business. We first sat down with John & Margaret in late August of this year to brainstorm the timeline for their e-commerce website transformation. This project consisted of many moving parts including refreshing their entire site as well as migrating them WP Engine for improved hosting and security. When it comes to design, we choose a sleek and simple user friendly layout complete with an interactive homepage and overhead drop down tabs for easy navigation. With over a decades worth of work investing into their previous site, it was important to all of us that we took precautions to ensure that no essential information was lost in the process.
We worked to transfer files from John’s photography gallery, Margaret’s portfolio, and various blog entries over to the new website to showcase their work over the years while adding a personal touch for all future visitors. Now even after the launch of the Heilman Designs website in mid-October, we still supply them with ongoing support and answer any questions they might have. Our monthly service partnership provides them with the security they need so they can focus on their business. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work with such kind hearted people like John and Margaret in improving their e-commerce experience!
